To the south of the Australian mainland lies the island state of Tasmania. Known for its natural beauty, Tasmania is also one of the few places in Australia where you’ll find the occasional snowfall during winter!
Furthermore, it’s a perfect place for foodies and wine aficionados—creamy cheese, crisp fruits, and succulent seafood are just some of the mouth-watering local delights available.
As the smallest state in Australia, it’s easy to discover Tasmania’s highlights within a short span of time. You can even do it in 3 days! Start from Hobart to visit picture-perfect Port Arthur, though be sure to make a quick stop at the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo to meet the popular and endangered Tasmanian Devils. Then head east to the Freycinet National Park to see stunning coastal landscapes, including the Pink Granite Mountains. Finally, enjoy the numerous walking trails at Cradle Mountain National Park, which is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
