EXECUTIVE – FINANCE

Job Purpose
  • Execute accurate and timely General Ledger (GL) and other reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial
    data, resolve variances through systematic follow-up, and maintain audit-ready schedules in line with
    internal policies and Malaysian accounting compliance practices.
Job Responsibilities
  • GL Reconciliation Ownership
    • Perform periodic BSP, income and other GL account reconciliations (balance sheet control
    accounts, clearing accounts, and assigned ledgers).
    • Match source data to ledger balances and validate supporting documents.
  • Variance Investigation & Resolution
    • Identify discrepancies, root causes, and adjusting entries required.
    • Prepare and post invoice/GL journal adjustments with complete workings.
  • Spreadsheet-Driven Reporting
    • Build, update, and maintain reconciliation schedules using advanced formulas and structured
    formats.
    • Maintain clear audit trails, status trackers, and version-controlled files.
  • Follow-Up & Issue Closure
    • Proactively liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain missing info or approvals.
    • Track open recon items and drive them to closure.
  • Other responsibilities
    • Support month-end close tasks involving clearing, accruals, and account clean-up.
    • Maintain reconciliation aging and escalation trackers.
    • Assist audit requests by providing well-organized supporting documents.
    • Contribute to process improvement in reconciliation and data accuracy.
    • Safeguard and not to disclose customer (personal and organization) details and our company’s
    confidential information.
    • Assist in Trade shows / Consumer shows when necessary, i.e., MAS Travel fair, MATTA etc.
    • Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to.
    • Any other duties at the discretion of the company.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–2 years relevant finance or accounting experience, specifically involving GL or control account
    reconciliation.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience with accounting systems/ERP is an advantage.
  • Good written and verbal communication in English.

  • Knowledge
    • Understanding of GL structures, clearing accounts, and reconciliation best practices.
    • Ability to interpret and validate financial source documents.
    • Awareness of Malaysian finance compliance environment (e-invoicing, statutory audit
    documentation).
  • Skills
    • Strong spreadsheet skills, including lookups, conditional aggregation, pivot tables, and structured
    schedule design.
    • Building reconciliation logs, trackers, and variance analysis tables.
    • Accurate GL posting and preparation of adjusting journals.
    • Strong documentation formatting for audit verification.
  • Abilities
    • Meticulous and detail-focused execution of reconciliation schedules.
    • Strong follow-up discipline and issue-tracking ownership.
    • Ability to manage recon timelines, chase dependencies, and close items reliably.
    • Structured, organized, and deadline-driven execution.
