SENIOR MANAGER – FINANCE OPERATIONS

Job Role & Purpose
  • We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Senior Manager – Finance Operations to lead and transform our finance operations function. This role is responsible for stabilizing and optimizing finance operations across all business units, while driving continuous process improvement, automation and governance excellence.

    The successful candidate will lead a sizeable operations team and work closely with commercial, operations, BPO and technology stakeholders to redesign finance processes, improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls and support business growth. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, building high-performing teams and leading organizational change.

Job Responsibilities Finance Operations Leadership:

  •  Lead the day-to-day finance operations across all businesses.
  • Stabilize billing operations by improving operational discipline, service quality and turnaround time.
  • Ensure finance operations are delivered accurately, efficiently and in accordance with established service levels.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous review and optimization of finance workflows.

Billing & Income Assurance:

  • Oversee end-to-end billing processes to ensure timely and accurate invoice.
  • Strengthening income assurance controls to minimize revenue leakage and improve billing accuracy.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to resolve complex billing issues and improve customer experience.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and SLAs and implement corrective actions where required.

Treasury & Governance Control:

  • Oversee treasury operational activities including liquidity and cash management, foreign exchange risk control and banking administration.
  • Strengthening governance controls across finance operations by ensuring compliance with internal policies and approval frameworks.
  • Identify operational risks and implement preventive controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Promote strong governance and control culture within the finance team.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Oversee collection activities and customer account management.
  • Improve debtor ageing and collection efficiency through process enhancements.
  • Partner with commercial teams to resolve customer disputes and outstanding balances.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of customer accounts.

Remittance & Accounts Payable:

  • Manage remittance settlement and reconciliation to customers and banks. Improve the unknown
    collection settlement process.
  • Oversee accounts payable operations to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Improve payment workflows and strengthen payment governance.
  • Drive operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with internal controls.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Lead finance transformation initiatives by reviewing redesigning and standardizing finance processes.
  • Identify automation opportunities using digital technologies and workflow solutions.
  • Collaborate with technology and business teams to implement scalable automation initiatives.
  • Establish performance dashboards and operational metrics to monitor productivity and service quality.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the finance operations function.

People Leadership:

  • Lead, coach and develop a finance operations team of approximately 15–20 employees.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Build succession plans and develop future finance leaders.
  • Drive employee engagement and continuous capability development.
Job Specification
  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance operations, shared services or finance transformation.
  • At least 5 years of people management experience, leading teams of 15–20 employees.
  • Proven track record in driving finance process improvement and operational transformation.
  • Experience leading automation or digitalization initiatives within finance is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex operational issues.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to lead change and gain stakeholder buy-in for new initiatives.
  • Highly organized with strong execution capabilities and attention to detail.
